Dethatching is a recommended service for lawns that suffer from an extremely thick layer of thatch. Since dethatching causes extensive damage and is labor intensive, this service will only be performed on lawns with a layer of thatch over 3 inches thick.
After dethatching the lawn, a large amount of green material is torn from the lawn. several vans of dead stubble can be created from an average sized lawn. The lawn will also suffer a lot, as the knives will not only tear the thatch, but also tear off a significant percentage of the new growth. New grass shoots are at the base of the plant, and many shoots are damaged when a lawn is dethatched.
Since dethatching causes a lot of damage, it creates a thin, brown, battered lawn. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you combine our dethatching service with seeding, as well as an application of a layer of soil.
Seeding covers damaged areas of the lawn. If the latter is not carried out, weeds will grow in the damaged areas of the lawn, by spreading soil, it promotes the germination of the seed and promotes the healing of the lawn.
The best time to dethatch your land is late summer/early fall. This allows the lawn to recover before winter and also avoids summer heat and drought.

Is your lawn in a ruff state? Maybe its time to do a dethaching treatment!
Dethatching is a restorative service recommend for lawns that suffer from an extremely thick thatch layer. Since dethatching causes extensive damage and is extremely labor intensive, this service is recommended for lawns with a thatch layer more than 3 inches thick.
After a lawn is dethatched, a large amount of plant material is ripped up from the lawn. Several pickup trucks of dead thatch can be created from an average sized lawn. The growing points of grass are at the base of the plant, and a lot of the growing points are damaged when a lawn is dethatched.
Since dethatching causes a lot of damage, it creates a lawn that is thin, brown, and more bare. Because of this, we strongly recommend combining our Dethatching service with overseeing, as well as an application of youdressing room.
Overseeding ensures that the new grass quickly fills the bare areas of the lawn. If overseeing is not done, weed seeds can establish themselves in the bare areas of the lawn. Topdressing helps the new grass seeds to establish more effectively, and stimulates the existing grass plants to recover from dethatching.
Dethatching is most effective when done in late Summer or early Fall. This allows the lawn plenty of time to recover before Winter, but also avoids the rigors of Summer drought and heat. By waiting until late Summer, there'll also be less competition with a variety of weeds that germinate in Spring.
